Hello!

I’m Yasmine, an Artist and Illustrator from Birmingham.

I studied Art and Design at Walsall College and then went on to earn a BA(Hons) in Graphic and Communication Design from the University of Leeds in 2022.

I have always been drawn to colourful, playful illustrations. I love how messy lines and bright colours can bring work to life, adding character and a human quality to the work.

I enjoy recreating architectural landmarks because there is always more than meets the eye. There are so many patterns and textures to be found, whether it be the materials used, the signs of natural wear and tear or intentional design choices, this is something I like to focus on when creating my pieces. These elements often hold memories, stories, and connections for people, and I enjoy hearing those personal reflections when they engage with my work.

Last year, I placed third in the BAA Calling All Creatives competition, and more recently, I was selected to be part of the Birmingham Open 25 exhibition in Victoria Square.

You can find me at the Birmingham Artisan Market in the Jewellery Quarter every third Saturday of the month.

For commissions or project enquiries, feel free to get in touch, I’d love to hear from you: yasmine.joanna@outlook.com
