A lot of layering went into its creation: I started with a collage made from magazines and masking tape to build up the structure, then painted over it with acrylics, repeating the cross pattern in various colours. Using fine liner and pens, I carved out the finer details before bringing the piece into a digital format. There, I layered the pattern again, this time with greater precision, and added further elements, such as the reflections.
The cube is a landmark destination, where its bold design makes it a vivid symbol of Birmingham’s skyline.
